The Vet Practice – Canine Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Centre – Whittlesea VIC

The Vet Practice & Canine Orthopaedics Sports Medicine CentreWhy work for us?

We are a relatively large advanced practice that offers both GP level as well as advanced services to our clients. Working with us brings new adventures every day which means no two days are ever the same. This also means there’s loads of opportunities to learn more things.

Learning opportunities range from reception to patient care to advanced surgery, emergency care and Canine rehabilitation. See The Vet Practice to see the kinds of services we provide.

While a typical veterinary nurse role covers all these areas, we know that everyone is different. Some of you prefer reception and client care roles while others would rather work in the hospital area taking care of patients and assisting with surgery.

This has lead us to create specific vet nurse roles that provide opportunities for you to excel in the areas you love.

These are:

  1. Role 1 – Veterinary Receptionist – Reception and client care (Experience or Cert IV VN qualifications required)
  2. Role 2 – Surgery and Patient Care – Assisting with surgery and inpatient care (Experience or Cert IV VN qualifications required)
  3. Role 3 – Trainee Veterinary Nurse – Already a VN Student? Learn to become a skilled allrounder

Our practice is open 7 days a week and shifts fall between the hours of 7.00am and 9.00pm Monday – Friday and 9.00am – 6.00 weekends. There is also provision for some after hours emergency work for hospital role nurses on an on call basis.

Most shifts are between 6 – 8 hours long and weekend and public holiday hours are shared between the team. Hours are negotiable depending on how many hours per week you prefer to work. Minimum 20 and up to 36 depending on your preference.

Pay is negotiable depending on your existing skills and knowledge you can bring to the team.

In addition, we offer extensive in – house training and further educational opportunities for the right people.
