The Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) is a well-established group of specialist veterinary hospitals. We offer a wide range of specialist services and provide 24-hour emergency and critical care through our facilities in NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD and SA. Services offered in our hospitals include internal medicine, surgery, oncology, ophthalmology, animal behaviour, exotics and avian, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, and physiotherapy.

Due to growth in our Internal Medicine Department, we are now seeking a qualified and experienced vet nurse with a strong interest in internal medicine for this newly created full time role.

About you

You have excellent communication, organisation and time management skills and have a passion for outcomes, patient care and excellent clinical service. As a senior vet nurse, you enjoy working as part of a team but also flourish individually. With a great sense of humour, flexible and positive attitude towards work, you’ll fit in nicely with our culture. As this is a high performing team, you will also have the following skills and experience.

Essential:

  • Certificate IV (or equivalent) in Veterinary Nursing
  • Minimum 4 years Veterinary Nursing experience in referral or emergency practice
  • Passion for Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine
  • Practices continuing education in Veterinary Medicine
  • Is enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Is able to work well within a team
  • Exceptional small animal handling abilities
  • Underpinning knowledge of medical diseases and conditions
  • Consistently demonstrate high quality patient care

Desirable:

  • Experience in monitoring critical and ventilated patients
  • Knowledge of RX works, Smartflow and Idexx blood machines
  • Hold or be willing to obtain the diploma in veterinary nursing
  • Familiarity with specialty medicine diagnostic procedures
