Small Animal Veterinarian – Part Time
As our veterinary hospital is expanding ,we are looking for a new part time small animal Veterinarian to join us! Our happy and experienced team consists of 5 full time equivalent Veterinarians and 10 full time equivalent Vet Nurses – Seaford & Carrum Downs Veterinary Hospitals are a privately owned company.
We have two clinics; the main practice is located in Seaford, just 3km from the beach. A new beautiful beach side cafe is right on the waterfront, which is a great place to go for lunch. Seaford boasts Kananook walking trail, Wetlands, several primary and high schools, many local sporting clubs, and is well serviced by both bus and train public transport systems. The second clinic is 5km away in Carrum Downs, which is situated opposite a large shopping centre and several cafes, where you can get amazing food and coffee. Carrum Downs is home to several local schools, public parks, bus services, and you can walk to the local pool from the clinic if you fancy a swim after work. We also enjoy the odd social function outside of work; families and partners are welcome too! (Our nurses were very pleased to beat the boss at a recent trivia night!)
Our clinics are serviced by a team of highly experienced veterinarians. Though, don’t let their experience fool you; they are excited about and welcome new ideas, encourage CPD, are keen to learn new techniques, and will support you to do the same! Our nursing staff are greatly experienced, supportive, and friendly. They are efficient, organised, highly skilled, and place huge emphasis on customer satisfaction and patient care.
We have all the usual toys such as digital x-ray, Im3 dental machines, ultrasounds, radioactive iodine treatment, in-house blood machines, orthopedic facilities (including TTA), pet-grooming, and we use RX works software.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Veterinarian with a minimum of 2 years experience to join us (predominately at Seaford) for an average of 25-35 hours per week; this can be flexible to suit your needs. We estimate this would be 3-4 days per week, with 1 in 4 weekends. We would also be most grateful if you were able to cover occasional shifts whilst others were on leave. You will not be required to do any after hours or on-call work.
Remuneration will reflect upon experience, though you can expect to be paid well above the award, with four weeks holiday leave and one week study leave per year.
